Karin Witte, MA is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 10 years experience in individual and couples therapy with adults. Karin’s specialties include
Karin’s therapeutic approach is based on unconditional positive regard, compassion, forgiveness and acceptance of self and others – while honoring the connection between mind, body and spirit. Her integrative clinical focus is rooted in the principles of Humanistic, Depth and Buddhist psychologies; Cognitive Behavioral, Somatic, Dialectic Behavioral, Narrative and Gestalt therapies; and mindfulness practices to assist clients in overcoming the obstacles to creating positive change and personal growth.
When we experience trauma, disappointment and setbacks without resolution and healing, we allow the emotional scars to dictate the course of our lives and relationships. These scars cloud the lens through which we view ourselves, others and the world we live in. Through that lens, we unconsciously create the story of who we are and what we’re capable of.
Karin offers her clients a safe and supportive environment to move through the healing process. She provides skilled, competent and respectful guidance to help empower each person to let go of the attachments that block their ability to live authentically and wholeheartedly – and to create the positive shifts in thoughts and behavior necessary to fulfill their unique purpose and manifest their life vision.
Karin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Florida International University and her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University. She also holds a specialization in Holistic Studies with an emphasis in Buddhist Psychology and is a certified facilitator of Attitudinal Healing. She has specialized training in DBT (Dialectic Behavioral Therapy) with Adolescents & Families; EFT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy); New Frontiers in Trauma Treatment; Holographic Trauma Resolution; and Living with Chronic Pain.
